TEXANS IN TENNESSEE
Hey friends! On May 6 we took a trip up to Nashville to surprise a friend at her college graduation, and our sister Calyn came with us. We had the most amazing time, and the look on her face when she saw us was priceless! Jordyn and Calyn have both been to Tennessee before, but for Peyton it was a first. It started with an early flight out of Austin, TX at 7:30 a.m. and then landing in Nashville at 9:45. (A big thanks to Steven the UBER driver for picking us up and getting us to the graduation safely.) From there we were able to make it just in time to watch Ashley walk across stage and get her diploma!
On Sunday night we drove over to Kentucky to enjoy our first ever drive in movie, we watched Guardians of the Galaxy VOL ll, which was SO COOL.
–Like if you have not watched it yet, go now.–
Monday we had a blast hiking, and on Tuesday, we were the average tourists spending our day walking all around downtown. We ate lunch at the Rooftop, then headed off to get dessert.
If you are ever in Nashville, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream shop is the perfect place to go for a sweet, cold treat. Peyton had the Intelligentsia Black Cat Espresso Ice Cream, and Jordyn enjoyed the Brown Butter Almond Brittle, both which were amazing and the shop itself was adorbs.
We also realized that on Tuesday, Nashville has a local farmers market… so if you are ever near 12 South on a Tuesday afternoon go get you some local “beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes,” etc…. 😉
Tuesday night we headed back to the airport to get on a flight that first stopped in Dallas Love Field and then home to Austin. We flew with Southwest Airlines, and the crew were some of the most kind and friendly people.
THANK YOU SOUTHWEST CREW!
We also can not thank the Henderson family enough for opening up their home to us, and not spilling the beans before we could surprise Ashley!
We hope to visit y’all again sometime soon!
Until next time,
