AND THEN THERE WERE THREE
Hey everyone! Sorry it has been a while since my last post, but now you can know why! My husband and I are so happy to finally share with you all- I AM PREGNANT! On Sunday of this week, we shared the announcement through Facebook and we are so thankful for all the love and support we have been shown this far. I have enjoyed reading each and every one of your comments, and we are just feeling so blessed.
I found out I was pregnant on June 1st. I took my first pregnancy test, cried from overwhelming joy, had a perfect day, but waited the next day to take one more test, then took my husband for a picnic. My reasoning for a picnic date at Blue Hole was that one year ago on May 28th, my husband got down on one knee and proposed to me there!. So I just told him I wanted to celebrate our one year engagement anniversary a little late, because people do that, right? Haha maybe, maybe not. But it worked.
On that June 2nd, my husband showed up and knew he was getting some kind of surprise (because I am terrible at keeping secrets about myself and was so excited I had to share that much with him). Also, the video camera I was holding kind of gave away that it was some big surprise in a small box. Inside the box we’re my two tests, little white newborn onesies (long sleeve because he or she will be born when it is still cold here in Texas), two pacifiers we saw a while back and bought because they were the last of their kind, all on top of this beautiful animal baby blanket. That moment was incredible.
From there, we slowly began telling family members in person when we could.
Side note- June 2nd happened to be opening night of my first production at EmilyAnn, West Side Story, and it was a long but fun month of shows every weekend. – (:
Our due date is February 1st and as of today I am 13 weeks, (three months) along and I am very excited to see what the second trimester is going to be like. Throughout this first trimester, I have learned that morning sickness is not just in the mornings. If I get out of bed before I eat anything, I will be sick. And be careful out in this Texas heat, because it will take my body down.
Needless to say, we are SO excited and thankful that we have been blessed with this little miracle! We cannot wait to meet our little one, but we are going to enjoy every bit of these next six months, listening to the heart beat and feeling the little kicks- when he or she will be big enough to start that up. I ask that you keep baby “Chip” in your prayers, praying he or she will be a healthy, strong baby. Thank you all so much, and I will try to keep you posted along the way!
