27 WEEKS IN NYC
I have to start this blog by saying my husband is AMAZING. This trip would have not been possible had it not been for him and my sister-n-law, Jordyn, surprising me that I was actually going to get to go with the girls on the girls trip to New York three days before we flew out. I was BEYOND excited and our trip was absolutely incredible.
I also have to state that next, we were not in New York for twenty-seven weeks, I just happened to be twenty-seven weeks along in the pregnancy while in New York. (:
On Monday, October 30th, at 5:30 in the morning we flew out and headed to Laguardia, New York.
This was a girls trip that we had talked about all summer long, just going to have a fun getaway together and enjoy a couple of Broadway shows. Going on this trip happened to be my sisters-in-law, -Devyn, Jordyn, Bergyn- my mother-in-law, -Mrs. Holly- and I.
Once we landed, we hopped on a bus that took us to the car rental location so that way we would have our own source of transportation to visit some family in Pennsylvania.
We stayed the first two days and nights with the family members in Pennsylvania. On Tuesday we went into Philly for some site seeing and food; philly cheesesteaks, hoagies, and pretzels.
Also in Pennsylvania we stopped by some cute orchards to get out and walk around.
On Wednesday we headed back into New York, checked into our hotel, and then made our way to the Broadway shows. First one up, Anastasia at 2:00 p.m… it was absolutely stunning. An incredible story, beautiful set, and breathtaking production.
After the show we were able to go backstage; a HUGE THANK YOU to Ramin Karimloo for putting us on his guest list and making that possible. Backstage we then followed Ramin on stage, visited for a little while, and took some pictures.
-If you do not know of Ramin Karimloo, he is an incredible actor who plays Gleb in Anastasia. He has also been in other Broadway productions such as Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. He is such a down to earth, nice guy. So look him up, and if you get the chance to see him live one day, do so!-
After that, we enjoyed walking around New York, happened to spot the USA Winter Olympic Team, and wondered into a few shops.
Our next, and final, show for the trip was Cats. If you have never heard of it before, then you and I were on the same boat, haha. But it was such an entertaining and energetic production that tells about the different stories of these cats and in the end one gets another life, like the nine cat lives thing.
Thursday marked 27 weeks along for baby Chip and I! We enjoyed it by spending a free day wondering the streets of New York checking off our lists of things to do in NY.
We did some site seeing, stopped by to try Cookie DŌ Inc. -so yummy,- and made our way down to Central Park before heading back to the airport to catch our flight home with Southwest Airlines.
So thankful for such a fun filled girls trip, and also very thankful to be back home with my hubby. Until next time NY….
Geno’s was where we got our philly cheesesteaks
